Up for sale is a fabulous sounding 1945 Gibson Banner J-45 in its original sunburst finish. Spruce top with mahogany back and sides, Brazilian rosewood fingerboard and bridge, unmistakable banner headstock logo, neck measurements are .97 @ 1st and 1.15 @ 12th, 1 25/32nd nut width. This example had different tuners it at one point and thus has additional visible screw holes on the back of the headstock. A repro set of Klusons are currently installed. There is a strap button hole on the bass side of the body located near the neck joint. There are some crack repairs on the top which appear to be cleated and there is evidence the bridge was re-glued or reset in the past. The guitar plays very well up and down the neck but is bordering needing a neck reset. The action currently is 3mm on the bass side and 2mm on the treble at the 12th fret which is right where we like to see it. Sounds glorious! Comes complete with a non original hard case. Weight: 4lbs. 1oz.
