About This Listing

The SM57 is the most famous of instrument mics. It’s clean 40Hz-15kHz response has made it the mic of choice for generations. It’s a proven performer on guitar/bass amps, brass, harmonicas, snares, toms, and congas, but it’s not uncommon to see vocalists reach for it, too. It features a cardioid pattern, dynamic element, and a presence peak at around 6.5kHz. Despite all the microphones available today, the SM57 remains universally accepted.

  • Contoured frequency response for clean, instrumental reproduction and rich vocal pickup
  • Professional-quality reproduction for drum, percussion, and instrument amplifier miking
  • Uniform cardioid pickup pattern isolates the main sound source while reducing background noise
  • Pneumatic shock-mount system cuts down handling noise
  • Extremely durable under the heaviest use
  • Replacement cartridge: R57

Product Overview
Industry standard, studio legend, mic for the masses. The Shure SM57 is responsible for a staggering percentage of the recorded sounds you've probably heard. It is the Swiss Army Knife of mics - infinitely capable, but not highly specialized. And for less than $100, we're OK with that.
