About This Listing

Ibanez TS-9 First year reissue. Original owner. I purchased this from a music retailer which I worked at. This was from the first run/batch TS-9 reissues, they couldn't hold one for me, I stopped in on my day off, they had all sold out, in one day, and the only one there was the display unit, which had some display marks, on two sides, from being displayed on the vertical rack for less than a day. They weren't sure when we'd see another shipment, so I bought it. Very rare first reissue without the CE mark on the silver back label, we were waiting for so long for these to come out, this was the first issue of this pedal. Same components, same factory from the 80's . In the early 90's this was a big deal because they stopped making them in '85. They were back. And this was the first run/batch. Has the TA5558 chip, same as the '85's did. I read SRV preferred the TA5558 chip TS-9's. The capacitors date to the 47th week of 1993. One capacitor dates to 1990, so Maxon had some components lying around when they started to build these again. All original, NOS components. No mods, original owner. Includes original manual. I've put this pedal up against the modern day TS-9, and I much prefer the tone of this pedal. Any questions or additional pics, please ask.

Product Overview
Before there was a Klon, before there was an explosion of boutique overdrives, there was the Ibanez Tube Screamer. Its subtle, mid-boosted sound changed the way guitarists thought about their place in the sonic spectrum and spurred a wave of imitators. Today, it remains one of the most popular and borderline requisite items on any pedalboard.
