I bought this Jaguar a few years ago and never really played it. The previous owner changed the stock tuners to some locking ones, but they had to drill new holes for the installation and unfortunately the head of the low E tuner’s screw broke off leaving the rest of the screw in the headstock. That also made the new low E tuner a little crooked, but it worked regardless. However, when I bought the guitar I removed the locking tuners and put the originals back on, but you can still see the extra holes that were drilled and the piece of the headless screw, but at least they’re on the back of the headstock. The previous owner also filed the G string’s nut slot down a little too low and it looks like it was filled-in with glue and fixed by adding an extra string tree for the D and G strings. It works fine as is, the string doesn’t slip out when bending. Everything else on the instrument is great.
I just replaced the factory chrome screws with black ones to match the pickguard, polished the body, oiled the fretboard, and put a new set of strings (9’s) on it last week. Speaking of the fretboard, it’s probably the darkest and most beautiful piece of rosewood I’ve seen, the reason I bought the guitar in the first place.
