The LG series were Gibson small bodied guitars from the 40s into the 60s replacing the thinly braced L-00 series allowing for a little more response to heavier handed strummers. The LG series featured the LG-1 lateral braced guitars, the LG-2 with X bracing and a sunburst finish, and the coveted LG-3 which was X braced and natural topped (which was rumored to have Gibson use higher quality woods). This LG-3 is a great player and crack free. The bridge plate has been replaced with an oversized rosewood plate, which does not inhibit the tone. With Chipboard case – hard shell available for purchase.
