You say you want a revolution? When John Dopyera launched the first National Tricone back in 1927, he sparked a revolution in guitars by building in three resonators to provide internal acoustic amplification. Now, 91 years later in 2018, National unveils their first 14-fret cutaway Tricone, offering improved playability for modern guitarists but still boasting that famous resonator sound. The T-14 features a formed back and 3 - 1/2" deep body producing similar body volume to its 12 Fret counterpart. A weathered finish evokes National’s long, well-traveled heritage. Capped by an unbound ebony fretboard, the maple neck provides a 25.65-inch-long scale length. The headstock is topped by an ebony overlay with vintage-style tuning machines. The T-14 might combine tradition with modern playability, but the sound is classic. Early National advertisements in 1927 touted the Tricone’s tone, power, and quality of sound, and the new T-14 proudly advances that history.
