About This Listing

This Gibson J-45 has one owner and was regularly played in a home studio. Overall, the guitar has only surface scratches, a few dings, and one very fine surface crack on the lower soundboard. There are no cracks on the back or sides. The binding, frets, and tuners are in excellent condition, and there is a small amount of laquer crazing on the sides. The bone nut is 1 9/16" and the string spacing at the bridge is 2 2/32". The neck is level with a slim taper. String height at the 12th fret is: Low E 3/32" and High E 3/32". There was some guitar case rash on the edge of the lower right bout, but that was expertly refinished (around 1995) by Michael Menkevich, Master Luthier. In 1985, a Martin piezo pickup was installed under the bridge saddle with a 9 volt battery holder attached to the inside neck heel. The input jack is through the end pin (needs new $3.00 battery wire). This is an amazing example of a J-45 with great playability and classic J-45 sound. The guitar comes with a hardshell case purchased when the old case rash was repaired. The serial number on the back of the headstock is 955187. Very, very good condition. Priced to sell. No low ballers.
