This is a 1965 Gibson J-45 in good original condition. The original cherry-dark red sunburst finish has some normal nicks and dings (most are viewed in the close-ups), and normal finish checking. There's one well-repaired hairline crack in the top that I'm pointing to in the 4th picture and a nasty ding in the fifth picture. This model features a Brazilian rosewood bridge and rosewood adjustable bridge saddle, and not the plastic and ceramic ones from previous models.

The first four frets have been replaced, and the rest have plenty of height and are nicely dressed. The neck is straight, the string action is low, and the guitar plays and sounds well. The neck depth is a medium depth, slightly D-shaped neck contour, and the fingerboard width is 1 5/8 inches at the stringnut. There's some slight normal capo wear on the back of the neck, primarily just in the finish behind about the 3rd and fourth frets. The neck angle is excellent... this guitar does not need a neck reset!

There are no cracks in the mahogany sides and back, or neck, or headstock repairs, or structural issues of any kind. My luthier went through this thoroughly and re-glued 2 loose braces, as most Gibsons during this era seem to dry out and develop loose braces. So, This fine vintage Gibson is ready for many more decades of playing. There's one cosmetic issue I need to mention... On the face of the headstock around the G-string tuner, the guitar must have leaned against something hot at one time, like a radiator or something. The finish is marred and slightly burnt in the area, as seen in the headstock close-ups. It does not affect tuning, or sound, or playability. It is only cosmetic.

This fine Gibson weighs just 4 pounds, 8.0 ounces, so it is very resonant and comes in its original Gibson Case. It has lots of duct tape holding the stitched seams together, as seen in the last picture. We offer a 48-hour approval period with a full money-back guarantee, except for shipping costs, so buy with confidence.
