A fabulous sounding flamenco guitar built by Hermanos Conde in Madrid in 1993 at the Felipe V shop. This is a media luna (see the headstock, also with its figured tuning peg plates), which makes it one of the premier Conde flamenco guitars. The bass is strong and deep, the trebles are clear and mellow but can be driven very bright with strong playing, and the guitar overall has both great projection and wonderful sustain. It is a dream for the intermediate or advanced player who can coax many different sounds out of this guitar. The action is low, and it responds very well to higher tension strings that can drive the top to get either a smooth jazz-like sound or a bright, crisp Conde growl, depending on how hard you play.

52mm nut width, 60mm spacing at the saddle, 664mm scale length. 2.8mm string height at the 12th fret

This guitar is in very good to excellent condition with only minimal playing wear on the top, especially for a 30-year old flamenco guitar. There are no cracks and no repairs.

I purchased this originally from overseas and am only selling this because I have another Conde and a Ramirez, both of which I love (slightly) more than this one. To hear someone better than me play this actual guitar, check out this video:

High quality woods throughout. The alpine spruce top has an excellent grain, very marked and even all along its surface. The cypress in back and sides is straight cut. The signature on the label has faded, but you can see the indentation in the photograph (and of course looking at the label in person).

Comes with a Cibeles hard case.

About Conde Hermanos:

The Conde Hermanos dynasty was founded by Domingo Estes, in 1915 in Madrid, at the famous address of Gravina 7, where he established his own guitar workshop after he worked for Manuel Ramirez from 1884-to 1915. A few years later, Domingo introduced his nephews, Faustino and Mariano Conde, to the art of making guitars, and when he died in 1937, they took over the family business.

Faustino and Mariano soon established their reputations as master Flamenco guitar makers with the label of Conde Hermanos. In 1979, a second Conde Hermanos guitar workshop was opened on Felipe V in Madrid. This location became the Conde Hermanos workshop for Mariano Senior and his two sons as the unique family craftsmanship was passed down through the generations. After Faustino died in 1988 and Mariano in 1989, Mariano's sons, Felipe and Mariano Junior took over the Conde Hermanos enterprise and stayed in the workshop at Felipe V.
