About This Listing

1965 Martin D-18 serial 2039XX

This guitar is a cannon! Very open and resonant sounding. Super comfortable soft V neck with nice fretwork. Currently set up with pretty low action and there is still lots of saddle left. An under saddle pickup was added at some point with an end pin jack and volume control inside the sound hole. It has the typical pick guard crack that is stable, possibly evidence of some kind of repair on the side? a long line on the top that doesn't appear to move and a tight crack on the back that does move, but will be easy to solidify. Original case

This was the last year for the tortoise pick guard and binding with Kluson tuners. The next year they transitioned to black pick guard and binding with Grovers

Less expensive than its D-28 counterpart thanks to mahogany in the sides and back instead of rosewood, the D-18 nevertheless retains a spry, resonant tone that's found favor with decades of players.
