Serial # 2805180The Martin Standard OM-42 is the most stylishly decorated of the orchestra model guitars, featuring hand inlaid abalone pearl top trim and sound hole rosette. And, although the face of the instrument presents a subtle beauty not seen on most guitars, the true beauty lies within. Not only does the OM-42 present the classic tone of the solid East Indian rosewood back and sides, but we find the solid Sitka spruce top with scalloped X-bracing rings out a robust, vivid harmonic response, and a good deal of volume and sustain, coupled with heightened clarity and musicality. The OM-42 an excellent choice for fingerpicking, strumming or soloing on recording sessions as well as live performances, and perfect for the intermediate and advanced player with its vintage appointments, classic look, and timeless sound.
