Gibson's Acoustic Custom Shop has recreated the “King of Flat-Tops,” which was first released in 1938. This historic Reissue is hand-built in Gibson's celebrated Bozeman facility using the finest materials and styled after its late 1930s counterparts. It excels in the woody ambience good Gibson guitars are known for, and delivers an aura of sound with an incredible dynamic range, warm mids, and a tight punchy bass. No authentic, old school appointments are left untouched on this Pre-War SJ-200. They include a thermally aged Adirondack red spruce top with hot hide glue bracing, a vintage style script Gibson inlay, a bound ebony fingerboard, an ebony four bar moustache bridge, a dandilion pickguard, and a thin nitrocellulose lacquer finish. What a fine reissue! It's great to be King.
