BEAUTIFUL Super Ludwig!
The original finish was black lacquer. At some point the finish was stripped and the natural wood was sealed. You can still see some of the black paint around the badge and some of the super parts. It's hard to tell but I am fairly certain the shell is maple. It's not quite light enough to be Mahogany.
I replaced a few of the clips with modern reproductions.
The hardware is in fantastic shape. Beautiful and clean! The super mechanisms works smoothly and quietly.
This drum does not come with a super sensitive snare wire set up but PureSound makes a decent reproduction or Olympic Drums can make you a custom snare wire set up with reproduction parts.
