About This Listing

A 1975 D-18 in excellent playing condition is now in stock!
The Martin D shape has attracted many artists. This model features an all veneer spruce top, mahogany sides and back, rosewood fingerboard/bridge, and Grover pegs. Instead of an adjustable truss rod, it is a SQ rod specification, which is a connoisseur's favorite for its high acoustic characteristics. The nut & frets, bridge pin, and pickguard have been replaced.

There are dents, scratches, and line scratches on the body. The paint on the body is a little cloudy and sagging due to aging. The pickguard has been replaced, and there are few picking scratches on it. The bridge has scratches on each pin as if a tool was used to pull out the pins. There is a toe-shaped scratch on the lower left side of the bridge, and small and large dents exist near the lower right edge of the body, and small dents are scattered around the entire perimeter. There are large and small dents on the sides of the body, mainly on the lower part of the body. There is a buckle scratch on the lower right side of the body back. There is an S-shaped line scratch on the upper part of the body back, and overall there are fine scratches. There are sesame-sized dents on the second string of the second floor of the back of the neck, and a toe-shaped ding on the center of the fifth floor. There are fingernail marks and scratches on the entire back of the neck, but they do not affect playing. There are some finger marks on the fingerboard surface. The strap pin at the end of the body has a replacement part inserted, but it is not fully inserted. Please be assured that this is not a problem for use.

The neck is in good condition, and there are no string marks on the frets. There is about 60% remaining. The current string height is adjusted at 2.5mm on the 12F 6th string side and 2.0mm on the 1st string side. There is a little saddle height left, and a little adjustment is still possible here.

Overall, the guitar is in good condition for its age, with some signs of use, paint ageing, and a pickguard replacement, but even taking these into account, the guitar is in good condition. There are no cracks and no weather checks, indicating that the previous owner had taken good care of the instrument. The sound is also good, with a crisp "Jalin" sound that is typical of the mahogany body of a Martin, and the SQ's unique combination of power and lightness. I have touched many 70S Martins, but I have never seen one that made me say, "Hmmm, is this good? I recommend this one! The original blue case is in good condition and is not to be missed! If you are looking for one, please give it a try!
