About This Listing

Up for grabs is an extremely rare functioning Elton branded triple woodwind stand that holds alto saxophone in the center, flute on one side, and clarinet or oboe on the other side (pegs can be interchanged for either side). With a little online research, we determined this stand was made in the 1960's based on a couple catalog entries found online

We estimate it's sale to be specifically in 1965 because the stand has an original sticker from the store that sold the stand out of our home town of Sioux City called Parkinson Music. This company existed through the late 1970's/ early 1980's and was primarily selling band instruments and accessories. Paired with the information provided from the original owner, it's likely this was purchased in 65' and manufactured in 1964.

This vintage stand is still fully functional and shows minimal wear throughout. Was well cared for by its previous owner and used up until recently. The stand does show frayed areas on the leather covers protecting the saxophone but still properly pads the instrument. The pegs are in good shape but do show signs of wear over the years in the form of scratches, dings, and scuffs. Also present is a repair done to the clarinet/oboe peg as shown in the photo. It appears that a section of the peg may have been chipped out but was glued back in. Still works great, but is noticeable visually.  The chrome hardware looks to be well cared for with little to no pitting but does show light dings and scratches. Legs do have two areas that appear to be missing the original rubber feet. These are on the opposite sides of each other on the stand leaving it currently balanced height wise, but still missing these protective covers. Stand has wing nuts in a couple spots that are moveable, but will be kept fairly tight for shipping purposes. Overall, the stand would be considered "Very Good" condition.

Would make a great collectible item from a brand that is no longer around, a store front that is no longer around, and a style of stand that is also not generally available as seen. Can also be a great functioning stand for a woodwind player!

*PROSPECTIVE BUYERS, PLEASE NOTE* Instruments shown in photos are NOT included and are simply shown for demonstration purposes.
