The finish is called “Maduro Brown.” It’s almost indistinguishable from black. Since these came with a rosewood fretboard, Gibson seems to have been going with a “something a little different” theme with his instrument. Hence a very dark brown color. Again, you would think it was black unless somebody told you otherwise.
