The 50 Series is George Lowden’s top of the line builds with all premium Master Grade tonewoods. This Lowden F-50 mid-sized jumbo custom was the featured Lowden guitar on display at the 2024 NAMM Show in Anaheim, CA this January. This is George’s favorite build (one of ours as well!) featuring an old growth Sinker Redwood top and rare African Blackwood for the back and sides, a true Rosewood that some say can rival or exceed the tonal characteristics of the famed Brazilian Rosewood. It is as good as it gets- with all the bells and whistles and extra trim. Custom upgrades include Figured Koa contoured arm bevel and bindings, 38-style Abalone Pearl top trim and Leaf fretboard inlays, upgraded inlay package featuring Ebony bound headstock with Maple purflings and Koa heel binding with wood purflings.
Other features include figured Koa and Abalone rosette, Ebony extended fretboard with Maple purlfing, Rosewood pinless bridge, Ebony headstock overlays, Gotoh Gold 510 tuners with Ebony buttons, Ebony heel cap, Walnut wedge, Maple, Mahogany and Rosewood back and sides purfling, bone split saddle, and more.
Beautifully balanced, this guitar has a full, big bottom end with clear mids and bell highs. Perfect with a pick or fingerstyle, standard tuning or DADGAD, this is a guitar that will work hard for you.
Handmade in Northern Ireland, Lowden guitars are finished in satin and have the look, sound and feel of old world craftmanship. Meticulous attention to detail and Master Grade tonewoods make this Lowden F-50 custom a true heirloom quality instrument.
