About This Listing

Antique french 4/4 violin. Label says Nicholas Bertholini 1810 - Made in France. This was most likely made sometime around 1910 in Mirecourt. This violin is deeply discounted due to the fact that it has a large crack on the back plate (see pictures). The crack has been repaired and cleated, so it is in perfect playing condition, but it does devalue the instrument. The sound is excellent, and it is very easy to play. I would say that this would be a great instrument for an advanced student. It has scratches and wear that one would expect from a 100 plus year old instrument. A sound sample is available upon request. Comes with a vintage Japanese made bow that has been recently re-haired.
