Hondo HP-1081 Longhorn 1984 - Copperburst

Up for sale we have a 1984 Hondo HP-1081 "Longhorn" solid body electric guitar in original Copperburst finish with original hardshell case. The guitar is in excellent used condition showing only light cosmetic wear with a few small dings and some faint scuffs and scratches in the clear coat, none of the wear going through the finish to wood. A well cared for instrument that has been played sparingly over the years. Structurally sound with no breaks, cracks or repairs. All parts original to the guitar aside from the pickup which was replaced with a Seymour Duncan JBJ humbucker. Fantastic playing and sounding instrument. This Longhorn features a 24 3/4" scale length, solid Maple body with original poly Copperburst finish, a single Seymour Duncan JBJ humbucking pickup with 'Zebra' bobbin, master volume and tone controls with amber Speed knobs, 3 mini switches, the first switch is a 3-way Coil-tap switch (both coils, front coil, rear coil), the second switch is a Kill switch (on/off) and the third is an active boost circuit (sounds killer).Brass stop tailpiece bridge with 6 adjustable saddles. The medium sized bolt-on Maple neck features a comfortable round C-shape profile measuring .850" deep at the first fret and .970" deep at the twelfth fret. Width at the (original brass) nut measures 1 5/8". The nut shows a little cosmetic wear on the top of the B and high E string slots (see photo) but does not effect tuning stability or playability. The Rosewood fingerboard features a full two-octaves with 31 medium jumbo frets, a 10" radius and silver dot inlaid fret markers. The frets are in great shape and show only light play wear, tons of life left. The neck is straight and plays great with no dead spots or buzzing. Original Grover tuners.
