Takamine EAN40C, Made in Japan on December 14, 2004 -- the 71st guitar made that month. Heavy pick wear on the soft (cedar) solid top. There is a crack from the soundhole to the side, about 1" long, which appears to be stable. The crack appears to be from heavy strumming a lack of humidification, rather than from the neck block slipping. The location of the crack (not along the side of the fretboard), no loose neck block or other slipping are good indications of this. A pickguard on this likely would've prevented the crack, but that ship has sailed! Solid mahogany back and laminate mahogany sides. Rosewood fingerboard and satin finish on the cedar top.
Overall, it's in good condition, with plenty of player wear and light dings. The frets have very little wear (see photo) and the guitar has just been setup with 12 gauge strings and plays well with low action. The preamp / pickup / tuner works as it should and sounds great with no crackling or 'pops' as it's just been cleaned with electronics cleaner. The original plastic covering is still on top of the preamp! Tuners are gold Gotoh (Takamine branded) with amber pearl buttons.
Takamine describes this as, "This original Takamine body is a scaled-down Jumbo at heart. The NEX has a silky balance to the tone that supports vocals beautifully."
Comes well packed in the original hardshell case. Case is very clean for the age and works great, despite have one crack (as pictured).
