Classic Cutaway Acoustic from Gibson

Continuing their legendary J-45 line of acoustic guitars, Gibson offers the J-45 Walnut in a cutaway for players who like to get farther up the neck. The J-45 Modern Walnut is a classic round-shoulder, dreadnought-style acoustic that, despite its cutaway design, still brings that amazing projection you would expect from a full-sized J-45. With a Sitka spruce top, walnut back and sides, and beautiful 2-piece maple neck, the J-45 Modern Walnut delivers warm, deep acoustic tone that can fill a room even when unplugged. For those times when you do need to plug in, the J-45 Modern Walnut has a killer LR Baggs Element pickup installed, giving you outstanding amplified tone. Many acoustic players here at Sweetwater are highly impressed with the Gibson Acoustic J-45 Modern Walnut, and we know that you will be too.

Hand-selected North American tonewoods for amazing tone

The heart of any good acoustic guitar is the wood that is used to build it. Gibson cuts no corners in choosing the tonewoods that make up their distinguished line of guitars. Carefully selected Sitka spruce is used for the top of the J-45 Walnut, giving it a solid foundation for the brighter midrange and treble tones. Meanwhile, the walnut back and sides provide the warmer, lower tones. Traditional scalloped X-bracing on the inside of the J-45 Walnut further enhances the overall tone of this acoustic.

Exceptionally smooth playability

The Gibson Acoustic J-45 Modern Walnut has an advanced-response neck profile that feels at home in your hand whether you're playing chords or single-note leads. As you play your way up the neck, you'll also appreciate the smooth feel of the 12"-radius Richlite fingerboard. With a neck that plays this smooth, and with the added convenience of a cutaway, you'll be able to play longer with less fatigue.

Amazing sound onstage

The Gibson Acoustic J-45 Modern Walnut comes with LR Baggs Element electronics, a popular choice among guitarists at Sweetwater. This system features a low-profile under-saddle transducer that enhances the coupling between the pickup and the guitar for a robust, lively, and natural acoustic sound. With an unobtrusive volume control mounted just inside the soundhole, the Element gives your J-45 Walnut the amplification you need, with zero compromises in tone or convenience.
