The Yamaha PSR-300M is surprisingly powerful 90s keyboard with very rich strings and pads.
The various "Synth Strings" and "Star Light" presets are awesome. The dual voice feature makes for some really cool tones, too.
A few notable features of this model:
- 61 full-size keys that respond to velocity! Not super common among many of the PortaSounds and Casiotones of the era.
- MIDI in/out ports. Pretty cool that this unit can double as a controller.
- The "SPLIT" feature with a custom split point to play two different voices across the keyboard. This is the first 90s keyboard I've encountered with this specific capability.
This keyboard is in solid shape for its age. All keys have been tested and are working. Powers on and works perfectly with a power supply. You can see the unit powered on in the first image.
Cosmetically, the keys are a bit discolored which you can see in the pictures provided. A small bit of plastic has chipped off near the power input (also pictured) but it doesn't impact the unit's functionality.
If you want a very "90s" keyboard with a wide variety of 80s/90s sounds, this thing ticks all the boxes!
