Benevolent Basses is a bass brand by Korean builder Jaeyoung Jung.
He has a reputation for designing basses that incorporate acoustic styles, and his originality and excellent quality are highly acclaimed.
This is a 4-string Benevolo Cinque
The design is a mix of electric and double bass with a double bass neck on an electric body with a David gage realist style pickup
The body top is a beautiful white spruce and the back is alder.
It has a hollowbody
32 scale lenght
The PU is only a piezo in the saddle section, and the impedance is adjusted by a buffer made by HUMPBACK.
So it can be wired just like a normal electric bass. There is no special need for a foot preamp, etc.
It is comfortable to hold and fits well.
The slightly shorter scale makes it feel more comfortable.
Sound-wise, it is quite close to the double bass.
