About This Listing

SERIOUS INQUIRIES ONLY!

PLEASE, CHECK OUT MY OTHER REVERB ITEMS!

PLEASE NOTE: I Provide Reverb Safe Shipping RSS with everything I sell and ship. And, I pay for this protection out of my own pocket. Sometimes it can cost me in excess of $60 depending on the item being protected. This coverage protects both you, the buyer, and me, the seller, against loss or damage during shipment. And, I never sell ANY of my items "As-Is". All my items are guaranteed to look and function as advertised or I will gladly accept a return. What other sellers provide that kind of service? The answer is: Very few, take a look and see!

The cabinet has some wear in the form of nicks, marks and chipping here and there, but I would still consider it and grade it as excellent, especially considering its age!

The speaker system is in Excellent condition throughout, fully tested, and the crossover was custom built and recapped where needed! This is a rare, Pre-Stereo speaker system, a Mono Speaker component system from 1957. It can be used both in a Stereo and Mono home audio configuration. The speaker components can be removed from this large cabinet which weighs approximately 150 lbs. when crated and shipped separately if desired that way!

These rare 1950's American made speaker systems don't come up very often, so don't let this rare opportunity pass you by!

Local pick up is encouraged!

The exact specifications of the components will be posted in the next couple of days or so if it doesn't sell first! I simply wanted to get it listed before the weekend was out! Look up the model number for quick reference, "Altec Lansing Iconic 826 speaker system" from 1957.

In General, what follows are the shipping parameters!

Please be advised:

This unit will take a little longer than most items sold on Reverb to pack and ship. I will either hire out a crating service to pack it and ship it or I will build a crate to ship it in myself--This will take some time, like a business week.

If you only want the components and not the entire cabinet, I am willing to take $499 off the asking price for local pick up for a total of $2500 out the door. If you want me to ship just the components and not the cabinet, the cost will be $2580 to anywhere in the contiguous United States, Alaska and Hawaii are a bit more!

If you want any of these variant pick-up or shipping configurations prior to shipment, just ask and I will adjust the cost in the listing!

Please Note:

This following shipping timetable is a guideline and not set in stone. Extenuating circumstance from the shipper or from my personal life can sometimes delay shipment. Things like delays due to Covid-19 which impacts staff shortages and supply chains, multiple buys on this platform in a short amount of time for example, 10 items sold in a 7-day period, or the illness of a child or my own illness or a fire or flood or an earthquake. I understand that most of the latter types of these occurrences are rare. But, even Huge insurance companies allow for Force Majeure (look it up). And, please understand that I am only one person and if you want the rare vintage item you bought to arrive in the same condition it left me, it will take time to pack it and ship it right! And, if something happens like an extenuating circumstance, it will take a little more time to ship! Thank you for your understanding!

So, in general, if bought and paid for Monday through Thursday, I will ship out within 72 hours (business days, not Weekends). If bought Friday, Saturday or Sunday I will ship out no later than the following Wednesday! I don't quickly or sloppily pack and ship. I agonize over picking the proper packing materials and proper boxes which I buy for the item AFTER the item is sold. I have dozens of vintage audio items available for sale and I DO NOT HAVE THEM PACKED AND READY FOR SHIPMENT BEFORE THEY ARE SOLD, I DON'T DO IT LIKE THAT! I AM NOT AMAZON OR A LARGE ONLINE COMPANY, I AM A SOLE PROPRIETOR OF A LARGE COLLECTION OF VINTAGE AUDIO ITEMS THAT MY FAMILY COLLECTED OVER 60 YEARS. When you receive your turntable in the same condition as it left me, you will thank me! Please, look at my feedback regarding Packing and Shipping! Price is Firm! However, the price is Negotiable If you buy 2 or more of my Reverb items concurrently.

Ships from San Marcos, CA. Packed safely and securely. I ALWAYS use the (RSS) Reverb Safe Shipping option when shipping an item I have sold in order to protect both you and me, I typically lose money on shipping because of this because RSS costs money. The more rare or valuable an item is, the more it costs to insure! In addition, I don't ship quickly or cheaply. Why sloppily throw a vintage receiver in Excellent condition into a box or poorly wrap it so it gets damaged in transit? I DO NOT DO THAT! I am meticulous with my packaging and I agonize over choosing the proper box that is ideal for each unit. Boxes, especially ones that are the correct dimensions for the item at hand are not always easy to come by. I use high quality double walled electronics boxes especially made for shipping vintage items of this type and if one box in the proper size is unavailable, I use TWO single walled corrugated cardboard boxes, putting one box with the unit in it INSIDE another larger box with even more packing material to fully protect the unit and that especially can be costly.

So, the Price is Firm! However, the price is Negotiable if you bundle and buy 2 or more of my Reverb items concurrently!

Thanks ; )
