Taylor Shares Trailer for "Ebony Project" Documentary

Taylor is a leader in the guitar industry in many ways, having introduced a range of acoustic guitar design innovations over the past 40-plus years. But perhaps the company’s most ambitious work of late has been its vision on how the industry can more sustainably use the world's supply of tonewoods.

The most direct manifestation of this came in 2011, when co-founder Bob Taylor led the company to purchase a stake in an ebony mill in Cameroon. Since then, Taylor and his team have worked tirelessly to improve harvesting practices and steward the ebony forest to the benefit of the entire guitar-making ecosystem.

This week, the California firm posted a preview of their upcoming film about this crucial work, called The Ebony Project. An immersive digital experience will launch on Earth Day (April 22) and will explore Taylor's efforts in Cameroon and the company's impact on the forest and in the community. A longer-form documentary will follow.
