Video: Heather Brown Casts the Spirit in the Sky

Heather Brown Electronicals is back with another innovative effects pedal for 2023: the Spirit in the Sky.

Following fan favorites like the Blessed Mother and the Sensation Fuzzdrive (which we placed on "Our Favorite Gear of the Year" list for 2022), the Spirit in the Sky goes is a tremolo, boost, and fuzz in one.

Described by Heather Brown as "a boost that allows you to create texture underneath", this lavender-painted pedal packs in a wavy optical tremolo and super-saturated fuzz in parallel, enabling guitar players, keyboardists, and bassists alike to toggle between layers of fat boost with a single stomp.

The Spirit in the Sky comes with controls for gain, tone, sustain and blend for the parallel boost/fuzz, as well as dials for rate, shape (square to sine wave), and depth for the analog optical tremolo.

A flow toggle switch allows players to A/B the tremolo to either a post-fuzz or a post-boost. There are master controls for volume, tone, and sustain. And to top it all off, there are two stomp switches for the overall effect and the tremolo functionality.

In the video above, Andy Martin plays through the new Heather Brown Spirit in the Sky and guides us through just some of its endless tremmed-out, fuzzy possibilities.

The new Heather Brown Electronicals Spirit in the Sky is available now on Reverb, directly from Heather Brown.
