Video: Zildjian Announces K Custom Special Dry Cymbals Redesign at NAMM 2017

Zildjian has expanded their popular K series for 2017 with the new K Custom Special Dry line, and is offering a series of new genre-specific cymbal packs targeted at working professionals.

The K Custom Special Dry series grew out of the popular 21” Special Dry Ride. The new lineup includes a redesigned version of the original model (as well as a 23” version) alongside 16”, 18”, 19”, 20” and 22” Crashes, 17”, 19” and 21” Trash Crashes, a 10” Splash and 18” Trash China, as well as 13”, 14” and 15” Hi-Hats and 14” FX Hats.

As the series name alludes to, these cymbals are articulate, dry and complex- perfect for extremely dynamic environments like jazz, fusion and electronic music. The Trash Crashes, with their unique hole pattern, offer explosive attack with extremely short decay and can be stacked with other cymbals to create interesting new sounds.

For drummers looking to outfit a kit with genre-appropriate cymbals, Zildjian’s new Music Packs help eliminate the guesswork and provide a one-box solution. The Rock Pack features A series cymbals in 17” and 19” Medium Thin Crash, 20” Ping Ride and 14” Mastersound Hats for bright, expressive tones. Built around the K Seires, the Country Pack incorporates 15” Light Hats, two 19” Dark Thin Crashes and a 20” Crash Ride for maximum expressiveness that will sit just right in the mix.

The Gospel Pack’s A Custom 14” Mastersound Hats, 17” Fast Crash, 18” EFX Crash and 21” Anniversary Ride provide the bright, splashy articulate voices needed for high-energy playing, and the Worship Pack rounds out the series with K Custom 14” Dark Hats, 16” and 18” Fast Crashes, and a 20” Medium Ride.
