When putting together a gear collection, everyone has their own approach. EarthQuaker Devices' Jamie Stillman's is refreshingly unfussy.
If you've seen his fantastic episode of EQD's Show Us Your Junk!, you'll know that he has a whole house full of guitars, pedals, amps, keyboards, and anything else that strikes his fancy. But on the whole his collection is, well, not fancy.
It's full of sentimental purchases, custom builds and gifts from friends, and vintage gear he's modded to his own specifications. Even the highest-end stuff he has seems to have come to him through a perfect circumstance or a deal that just couldn't be passed up. There are no Bursts behind display glass here. Instead, Jamie imagines that others might think of his collection, "Wow, he's really cheap and his shit is really dusty."
Ahead of The Revenge of EarthQuaker Day—the fifth iteration of the Akron, Ohio music and gear fest, which takes place Saturday, August 6—we asked Jamie to highlight a handful of the most special pieces in his personal collection.
