On Twitter early this morning, Aerosmith's Joe Perry teased a brand-new Gibson Les Paul signature model.
While no stranger to Gibson artist models—Perry's Blackburst Signature arrived in the late '90s, while his Boneyard Les Paul got both a Gibson and Epiphone treatment—this new model offers something different.
The goldtop-finished, single-pickup Les Paul appears to have a Stratocaster-style floating tremolo bridge. While no vibrato arm is in place, the video clearly shows the bridge raised slightly above the body. And Perry's tweet suggests the same:
"After working on this guitar with @gibsonguitar for close to 3 years, it is finally here! After several decades of playing many different guitars I think this one represents the nearly impossible task of bringing the best of all of them into this new signature model," he writes.
