Electro-Harmonix has recently announced its latest line of mini-sized effects pedals, the NYC DSP Series. This line includes nine iconic EHX effects in the new Pico-sized pedal format, which is even more compact than (already small) Micro and Nano variants. That's excellent news for anyone that wants to save extra space on their pedalboards.
The NYC DSP Series now has a total of nine pedals, including Pico Pitch Fork, Pico Oceans 3-Verb, Pico Canyon Echo, Pico Deep Freeze, Pico Attack Decay, Pico TriBoro Bridge, and Pico ReRun, as well as the Pico Platform and Pico POG (both previously released this summer). The Pico Pitch Fork is a polyphonic pitch shifter that comes with 30 unique pitch shift options. There's both a latch and momentary switching functions for playing bursts of bent tones or to adjust and hold the pitch to taste.
The Pico Oceans 3-Verb is a multi-function reverb pedal that offers Spring, Plate, and Hall reverbs from the Oceans 11 Reverb. With flexible controls including pre-delay, spring length, and tone, the pedal is highly versatile. Additionally, the Pico Oceans 3-Verb features an Infinite Reverb mode that can be instantly accessed by maxing the time control or by pressing and holding the footswitch for an ambient wash of swelling reverb.
The Pico Canyon Echo is a digital delay pedal that distills the original Canyon Delay's simplicity and versatility into a no-nonsense echo effect with performance-ready features and tone. The pedal is a pristine clean digital echo with up to three seconds of delay time and features Tap Tempo with beat subdivisions, a filter knob that cuts treble or bass, switchable delay tails, and a new Infinite Repeats mode that acts as a looped tape machine.
The Pico Deep Freeze is a sound retainer/sustainer that falls somewhere between the original Freeze and Superego pedals. With the ability to freeze a moment in sound, the Deep Freeze is capable of acting as a sustain pedal for holding chords and notes as backing for your playing or as a platform to manipulate your tone into new sounds.
The Pico Attack Decay is a tape reverse simulator featuring a simple control layout of Volume, Sensitivity, Attack, and Decay knobs. Known for producing volume and reverse swells, backward tape sounds, artificially short staccato notes, and bowed instrument effects, the pedal is a compact yet highly usable version of the full-sized Attack Decay reissue that brought the vintage effect into the present.
The Pico Triboro Bridge is an overdrive, fuzz, and distortion pedal that connects the three drive styles, taking dirt algorithms from both the Platform and Attack Decay pedals. With a simple and convenient control set of Volume, Gain, and EQ controls plus a Gate for the fuzz, the pedal is highly versatile. The Pico POG takes the streamlined simplicity of the Micro and Nano POGs and fits it all into an ultra-compact pedal that fits on the tightest of pedalboards while adding a powerful tone control.
