Milkman Sound Unveils the New Amp 100 | NAMM 2020

NAMM is just around the corner, which means that a slew of gear companies have already started unveiling new products that'll be available later this year. While many of us were distracted with the holidays, Milkman Sound quietly jumped into the mix, debuting its brand-new amp-in-pedal-format, the Amp 100.

The new Amp 100 is something of a second generation of the brand's The Amp—the first amp-in-pedal-format that Milkman released back in 2017. As explained in the demo video below, Milkman received a lot of feedback on the original Amp and set out to make those additions with the second generation.

The new Amp 100 maintains a lot of the same features as the original Amp—the same suit of outputs (headphone, guitar level, and XLR outputs with cab simulation), its universal power, and the same preamp—but adds a lot of the great features that players requested, like an internal 15db FET boost for players switching between instruments or those looking for more gain from their signal.

Milkman also added a second reverb control so that players would be able to adjust the length of the reverb/decay for a sonic experience that more faithfully recreated the kind of tube-driven spring tank reverb unit you'd find in an all-tube amp, like Milkman Creamer.

The most standout change to the second Amp generation, however, is the addition of more power. As stated above, many players who loved the original Amp were still left wanting when it came to how much power they were able to draw from it, so Milkman created the Amp 100 to be 100 watts at eight ohms or 200 watts a four ohms.
