Over the past few months, Brian Deck has been sharing with us his tips and tricks for mixing like a pro. He has given advice on creative ways to mix with overhead and room mics, how best to make digital mixes sound analog, and most recently, how to mix radio-ready vocals.
Today, he's drilling down on snare drums and, more specifically, how to mix them like a pro using plugins. In the video above, he runs through a variety of different drum mixing examples spanning a slew of different genres, from rock to hip-hop, and demonstrates which UAD plugins he likes to use and to what degrees to suit each snare style.
