Eventide's newest effect is here, combining two complementary effects into one powerhouse of a unit. The new Riptide is the combo overdrive/vibe pedal that you didn't know you needed on your board.
The Riptide is housed in the same form factor as some of Eventide's latest pedals like the Blackhole, which keeps things really intuitive. The two independent bypass footswitches correspond to each effect, and each effect also has its own three designated controls.
What's even more is that there are two different voicings per effect that are designated by the color of the LED above the engaged footswitch. The green drive is the more classic, mid-forward voicing while the red drive is a fatter and smoother boosted overdrive. Meanwhile, the green vibe is the traditional Uni-Vibe while the red vibe gets into phaser territory with a deeper phase sweep and more high-frequency emphasis.
Another very useful feature of the Riptide is its order swap button, which allows you to change the placement for the overdrive and vibe. This selection is also savable to presets so that you can create truly endless combinations. Speaking of presets, there are five slots of onboard storage for saving your favorite sounds, which is expandable to 127 slots via MIDI.
