Tone King is back with a brand-new version of its beloved Royalist model. The new Royalist MKIII promises all of the vintage-inspired amp tones a fan of that era could want, from smooth and warm JTM45-inspired sounds to a generous helping of Plexi-inspired voicings.
The MKIII's 40 watts of power is driven by its all-tube signal path, featuring three 12AX7A preamp tubes, two EL34 power tubes, and a 5AR4 rectifier tube for authentic British "sag" response. The amp features two channels, each with their own volume control and "pull fat" feature, which beefs up the low-end frequencies of the preamp's first gain stage.
Additionally, players have a three-way 1964, '67, or '70 voicing switch assignable to each channel. Both channels also feature their own independent Iron Man II attenuator with an HF switch that can be used to drive full power to the amp at a fraction of the volume level.
The MKIII Royalist is available as a 1x12 combo or as an amp head. If opting for the header, players can also pick up a matching 1x12 or 2x12 speaker cabinet. While the standard release version of the Royalist MKIII is available in black tolex, Reverb users can take advantage of the custom Royal Blue colorway versions exclusively available in Tone King's Official Reverb Shop.
For a limited time, the Tone King Reverb Shop will additionally be offering older amps like the Imperial, Grande, and Gremlin in custom colorways including Pink, Baby Blue, Orange, and Gold.
